Glen Hall – Executive Chairman

Before founding the Write Research Group he was Director of Research for a management consultancy group. By the age of 11 his entrepreneurial stirrings were beginning to emerge. A seasonal conker business flourished alongside the school tuck shop. By the age of 13 he was employing his best friend as they ran a gardening business for the next 3 years (but only on Sundays!). It would be a while later before Glen was awarded the 2005 Ernst & Young/Coutts Emerging Entrepreneur and then the 2006 British Chambers of Commerce Northeast Entrepreneur of the Year. During the course of the last ten years he has built, led and managed a selective portfolio of high performance businesses serving talent management, resourcing and organisational effectiveness professionals with a global reach. Most recently Glen became senior non-executive director of the Natural Empathy Group (http://naturalempathy.com/). He is a graduate of the School of English at the University of Leeds where he obtained a 1st degree and M.A He is a member of the British Society of Literature and Science (http://www.bsls.ac.uk/), Chatham House (http://www.chathamhouse.org/about-us) The mission of Chatham House is to be a world-leading source of independent analysis, informed debate and influential ideas on how to build a prosperous and secure world for all. Current interests are the 'intertextual interweave' between 'literature and science'...

Tim Gleave – Managing Director.

Tim was instrumental in taking Write Research to the next level and is a key board member. Before this Tim was Associate Director of a renowned Search company. Prior to this he was Head of Global Research for a consultancy group.

Once again by the age of 12 he was collecting golf balls and selling them directly to Warrington rugby league players who lived locally!Tim joined the group as Director of Business Development, before becoming Director of Sales and Marketing and then Managing Director in 2008 – all in the space of 5 years.

In 2007, Tim has been instrumental in helping shape the company’s high performance framework. He is graduate in History obtaining a 1st degree and M.A. from the university of Newcastle. Currently Tim enjoys family and the odd round of golf – which usually turns out to be odd rather than even.

Paul Ryder – Executive Director

A specialist in Marketing Communications and market research. Paul has extensive public sector experience having previously held the position of Head of Marketing with New College Durham. Prior to this he was Marketing Manager for Hartlepool College.

In 2007 Paul successfully completed the integration of Smart Public into the Write Research Group.

Paul graduated in Business Studies from the University of Northumbria, where he also completed a Chartered Institute of Marketing Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.

More recently he completed his MBA from the University of Durham Business School.

Paul has also lectured in Marketing at both New College Durham and Durham University. He is also a school governor. He is keen runner and has completed the Great North run for the sixth time.

Andrew Dolby – Chief Operating Officer

The newest member of the Write Research family, Andy finds himself as the ‘elder statesman’ of the Board. With nearly 25 year’s experience in talent acquisition, from media to recruitment marketing, assessment consulting to RPO, he adds valuable corporate experience to the entrepreneurial energy of the team.

Most recently the Managing Director of the Resourcing division of one of the UK’s leading HR Consultancies he has also worked at senior management and Board level with some of the world’s major providers of recruitment, employer branding and assessment solutions. While showing little of the youthful business acumen of his colleagues he did develop an aptitude for academic excellence and received a 1st Class degree in Management Sciences from UMIST.

Despite his natural humility he has been known to speak at conferences and seminars and maintains a metaphorical ‘soap box’ from which to preach the virtues of insight led resourcing. He is also a devout follower of Manchester United…

At Microsoft, we were also interested in understanding the talent structure and its associated strategic and operational nuances and how questions of responsibilities were defined and executed
along sometimes complex matrix reporting lines.
